The Steel Cave in the Sunken Hole Under the Melted Spire
The Cloud Giant, Vort
A Cloud Giant sits in front of us twirling a dagger (to us, a broadsword)
Z and D get the vibe from P that P has this under control and has a quiet confidence (however he's deceiving us)
The giant, Vort, is on a job (an assassination? - later we learn it is a relic retrieval)
P is weighed down pretty heavily by having Vort show up. Former "work friend" who was never actually nice to P.
headset recommendation - arctis steelseries
D mentions the Night Hag to Vort... which got a reaction, but he hid it pretty well. Not sure what the implications are.
The Deal
Vort says he will keep baddies away while we rest and recover... if we go get this relic for him.
What: Retrieve The Crystal Chalice (with blood-red liquid)
- pure clear crystal, a blood red center like a gemstone. A liquid inside that must not be spilled.
- Vort doesn't know what it does
Where: The bottom of this dungeon

Suddenly, D appears and is also struggling with the knife.
Helping P? hmmm....
Then D says: Let's do it, she's been holding us back for too long!

Wakes and sees P restlessly sleeping

dusky light forms into a little blanket
the dream evaporates!

looks at D angrily

Z is calming him down

Z tells him a bedtime story of her 2nd favorite kill... a knife into the crotch of a pedo... which of course, further traumatizes P
Z sings him to sleep a lullaby he mom used to sing

uneventful sleep
but, from later behavior, it seems like the good night's rest either made him feel invincible or stupid
A New Day, let's head into a dungeon!
